My Approach

My early and continuing approach to MS is nutrition based. Early on it was difficult to find a lot of information on diet and nutrition. However, there was available information regarding the success of patients using the Swank Low Fat Diet to deal with MS. This gave me my initial direction in using diet to combat my MS. As time passed, more and more information on diet and MS began to surface, leading to a refinement in my approach.

As time continued, I constantly researched and furthered my learning about MS. With the help and guidance of Integrative doctors (western doctors with training and understanding in nutrition and natural approaches to illness) I have learned to test for underlying imbalances and infections, that might be contributing to poor health. Problems such as Candida, heavy metal toxicity, chemicals, allergies, Epstein-Barr Virus, and other pathogens, may cause a heavy burden on a body struggling to correct imbalances.

One of the common factors that many people with MS have prior to being diagnosed with MS is they suffer from Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) and/or Irritable Bowel syndrome (IBS), I certainly am no exception to this fact. I think this may be due to an epidemic that is lurking under the surface, and that is Candida yeast issues. Prior to my diagnosis of MS, I also had a lot of issues with, what I now recognize as, skin rashes caused by Candida. I believe I have only recently begun to get this issue under control.

As well as the nutritional aspects, detoxifying the body is an important component in my strategy. Having only two amalgams, and needing to have one of those replaced, I replaced both fillings with composite fillings. After which I followed up with a natural detox protocol to address removing any remnants of the amalgams. Through nutritional, supplemental and herbal protocols it is possible to enable the body to rid itself of toxins that are of a moderate level, such as my case. In more severe cases other means may become necessary to facilitate detoxification.

More information coming soon: Due to Michael's disc decompression treatments, he has to stay off of computers for the next few weeks to get the most from the treatments. Please check back for additional information in the future. This site is a work in progress and will continued to be updated.
