An Update! (updated July 19, 2009)
Well it has been sometime since I have updated the site. This does not mean however that nothing has been happening. Quite to the contrary. Yet two years after stem cell treatment, I can say that I think that they have been very beneficial in helping stabilize my state of health.
With so much that has happened it is hard to know where to begin.
One of the pivotal issues that I, until very recently, have been trying to resolve is issues regarding my back. This has been a question to what is what in my displaying symptoms. At long last I found a surgeon that had the right approach that I felt comfortable with and I had a two level decompressive surgery on my back.
One of the results of the surgery also relates to test results that I received after I had gotten stem cells. I receive a test that showed positive exposure to Borrelia burgdorferi the bacteria that causes Lyme Disease. It is quite possible that my MS may be caused by Chronic Lyme Disease.
After taking a short course of Neuro effective antibiotics, used during and after my back surgery, I had a very strong Herximer reaction and a neurological event very consistent with ones that I have had in the past, that have been considered to be MS. My current Doctor, who works with a lot of Lyme Patients, recognized my symptoms as ones shared by other patients who have a co infection to Lyme disease.
So where does this leave me? With more work to do, but it gives me a new direction to explore. To treat Chronic Lyme will require a long course of treatment and after experiencing the Herximer reaction that I did, I know that it will be a rough road, but I am determined and reinvigorated to conquer this ailment!
