Cypress High School is putting on a series of events to help out the Swift Family.
Dear Cypress Parents, friends and neighbors:
During the week of May 5 through May 9, the Leadership class is sponsoring what we fondly call "The Swiftraiser". It is a fundraiser for Michael Swift (father of Cypress Student, Alex Swift). Michael has been suffering from multiple sclerosis for over 10 years. His approach to fighting this disease has often led him to alternative programs and most recently received a Stem cell transplant. The cost of these programs is tremendous and consequently Michael has a huge debt. The money we raise for him will go directly towards this debt and future treatments. Raffle - all week $5 each or 5 tickets for $20
Raffle tickets will be sold all week for a chance to earn one of many prizes from local businesses - Jamba Juice, Santa Cruz Skate Shop, Santa Cruz Apparel and many more.The drawing will be held May 16th.
Tuesday, May 6 Lunchtime
Pie in the Face - Students will have a chance to through a pie in a teacher’s face at lunchtime. The more raffle tickets purchased, the better the student’s chance of getting picked. Tickets are 2 for $1
Wednesday, May 7 5 pm to 9pm
Fundraiser Night at Nuevo Southwest Restaurant on East Cliff Drive. Nuevo Southwest is owned by a couple of Cypress parents who have generously offered to donate 20% of the evening’s proceeds. Please consider inviting friends & family to enjoy a delicious meal. Reservations are recommended but not required. A flyer is attached to print and hand out to people you know.
Thursday, May 8 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm
Battle of the Bands & BBQ $10
We have quite a few Cypress students in bands scheduled to play. The winner will get free recording time at a local studio. We will also need parent volunteers to chaperone, help with the BBQ, or donate food.
Please encourage your students to get involved and attend these events. All these tickets will be available for purchase at Open House on Wednesday. We will also have a sign up sheet for parents to volunteer time to help with these events. If you cannot attend Open House and would like to donate food or time for these events, please leave a message at school for Mary Luther. We thank you in advance for all your support.
